Constellation Automotive Tips and TricksVCT Error Message “FlashFiler: Cannot Locate Network Server” If you utilize VCT and have ever experienced the error message “FlashFiler: Cannot Locate Network Server”, many times the server’s Flash Filer has not been launched at the start of VCT. This internal VCT utility connects the Server Databases to the VCT program. You may have noticed the icon for this running in the system tray at the bottom of Microsoft Windows. It resembles a little blue earth with FF written on it in red. To manually turn this utility on, you may do one of the following: Right-click your VCT F&I (Finance) Icon, left-click Properties, left-click Find Target. This launches Windows Explorer. Navigate to the Server folder and Double left-click the Server Folder. Then locate the FFServ32.exe file and double left-click. This will launch the utility. You may also feel free to contact Technical Support and one of our System Analysts will be more than happy to put a Flash Filer Icon on your desktop for quick access. MSP Error “Advanced Day, Please Close Day” This is a message that occurs periodically when the day has been closed at a future date. If you have ever gotten this message, no doubt you are aware that it will keep you from using the software until corrected. If you would like to correct this yourself, you may choose to do the following: Right-click your MSP Icon, left-click Properties, left-click Find Target. This launches Windows Explorer. Navigate to the Station1 folder and Double left-click the Station1 Folder. Then locate the resetday.exe file and double left-click. This will launch the utility. Using the drop-down box in the utility, choose your company (for those dealerships with more than one Company), and then press the “Reset Day” button. All set. This will set your system date the correct day and enable you to access MSP. Alternatively, you may also feel free to contact Technical Support and one of our System Analysts will place a Resetday Icon on your desktop for future usage. MSP Stock Numbers Are you aware that the MSP Program designates different letters to different types of accounts? Because of this, dealerships should refrain from using the letters C, D, P, and SN in their stock numbers. For instance, let's use the stock number 7405. When a Side Note is created, MSP automatically creates a new stock number of SN7405. This is the case with Deposits (P7405), Deferred Downs (D7405) and Cash Downs (C7405). If these letters are used at the outset of buying a vehicle into MSP, various issues will arise.
