The Federal Trade Commission has mandated that all lending institutions including automobile dealers be in compliance with Red Flag laws. Constellation Automotive Software would like to make sire that all of their customers are protected from possible fines and lawsuits. Red Flag Program
Red Flag laws have been in effect since 2008. Congress is now stating that strict enforcement of the law will begin Jan 1, 2011. Once the Federal Trade Commission starts to enforce Red Flag Laws, penalties may be retroactive and affect lending institutions including automobile dealers. The Red Flag Law sets out how certain businesses and organizations must develop, implement, and administer their Identity Theft Prevention Programs.
